San Jac To Host Free Musical Concerts This Month

San Jacinto College will horde low-pitched concerts and aninformational song harangue during November that will featurestudent, faculty, and other musicians.

All events are giveaway and open to the public, and will be stagedat the Central, North, and South campuses.

The Central Campus events will be hold at the Dr. Monte BlueMusic Building, or Slocomb Auditorium, 8060 Spencer Hwy., inPasadena.

The North Campus unison will be hold at the Dr. Charles GrantFine Arts Center, 5800 Uvalde Road in the North Channel area.

The South Campus unison will be hold in the Marie FlickingerFine Arts Center, 13735 Beamer Road in Houston.

Thursday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m. ” The Central Campus pewter choir,under the citation of Dr. Karen Marston, will present an eveningof cover song featuring a accumulation of churned ensembles. Composerson the module add Mouret, Mora, Ewazen, Haydn, Bernstein,Holst, Monteverdi, and Matchett. Students will perform in quintets,quartets, and in a considerable amalgamated ensemble.

Friday, Nov. 11, 3 p.m. ” The Central Campus orchestra, underthe citation of Aaron Bielish, will present a unison that willfeature assorted low-pitched styles. Familiar worksby Bach and Handel will be amalgamated with more outlandish fare,including cover functions by Bach’s youngest son and by Frederick theGreat’s personal composer. Selections will add J.S. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. ” As segment of the Houston SymphonyLecture series, award-winning movie executive and producer, Dr.Duncan Copp, will verbalise at the Central Campus Slocomb Auditorium.Copp collaborated with the Houston Symphony in January 2010 on aworld premiere plan called “The Planets ” An HD Odyssey” whichfeatured a live opening of English composer Gustav Holst’smusic and solar images from NASA. He is now working onthe sequel, “Orbit ” An HD Odyssey.”

Thursday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m. ” The Central Campus jazz ensembleand jazz combo, beneath the citation of Jeffrey Adams, will performmusic from not similar jazz genres, such as typical jazz, blues,Latin, funk, and ballad. The jazz garb is a 20-piece groupconsisting of saxaphones, trumpets, trombones, and a stroke section(piano, guitar, bass, and drums). The jazz combo is a not as big groupthat includes a vocalist, and features more improvisation. The jazzcombo will perform a repertoire of normal jazz favorites.
